Private Chartered Universities Forum (PCUF), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The 4th meeting of the Private Chartered Universities Forum (PCUF), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held on 7th March, 2015 at CECOS University, Main Campus,Phase-VI, Hayatabad, Peshawar. The meeting was Chaired by Engr. Muhammad Tanveer Javed, President CECOS University and attended by the Presidents, Chancellors & Vice Chancellors of Abasyn University, CECOS University, City University, Iqra University, Preston University, Qurtaba University and Sarhad University.

In his opening remarks Engr. Muhammad Tanveer Javed, Chairperson PCUF / President CECOS University thanked all the participants for attending the meeting and asked for the support of all the PCUF member universities for carrying out his responsibilities as Chairperson, PCUF. ;

Considerable deliberation was made on different issues faced by the Private Sector Universities. The participants reviewed the security measures taken by the PCUF members universities in great detail and expressed their satisfaction over it. Various committees were formed to strengthen the cooperation among the Private Sector Universities of KPK specifically to enhance the quality of teaching, research and bridge the gap between the Academia and Industrial Sector. The President, CECOS University offered the use of facilities of CECOS Industrial Liaison Centre available at Industrial Estate, Hayatabad, Peshawar for promoting entrepreneurship and business incubation in addition to an opportunity of training to the students and faculty in the field of Engineering at its newly developed state of the Art “Peshawar Light Engineering Centre” established in collaboration with TUSDEC.

The Forum appealed the Government to involve the private sector universities while developing and improving the educational policies and also desired that the Presidents, Chancellor & Vice Chancellors of Private Sector Universities should be given equal protocol as given to the Public Sector Universities and they must be invited in official functions organized by the Government.

At the end all the participants expressed to offer quality education in the Province at affordable price without compromising on merit
