The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and its rapid spread around the world have raised serious questions about the future of education, which has been a hot topic of discussion among educators in recent years. CECOS Connect will focus on using technology and educational approaches to provide an effective learning experience to students outside of the traditional classroom, increasing flexibility and performance.

- The curriculum for all courses/programs through CECOS Connect conforms to the guidelines of the HEC.
- An ODL course may be delivered synchronously, asynchronously, or a combination of the two.
- Students enrolled in the ODL program are given clear, complete, and timely information regarding the curriculum, delivery method, assessment strategy, technological requirements, availability of student support services, and other policies and regulations. Students will have the chance to evaluate their readiness for online learning by completing and submitting the university’s SOLRC (Student Online Learning Readiness and Contract)
- For each course, the instructor shall ensure that the following elements have been uploaded onto the LMS before the beginning of the course.
- Know Your Instructor (a short video of the instructor and his/her profile)
- Introduction to the course
- Learning Objectives
- Textbooks and materials to be used for the course
- a breakdown of the teaching plan and schedule
- elaboration of the course delivery components
- Description of the assessment plan (exams, etc.)
- Key dates, times, and venues of meetings
- Online Office Hours
- All subsequent learning material (including slides, notes, and recorded lectures) will be made available to the students as and when required using the digital platform developed for this purpose
- Two instructional delivery modes may be used for a Course offered via CECOS Connect.
- Asynchronous: Asynchronous learning allows students to learn and complete their coursework at their pace with a flexible schedule (within a specific timeframe). Lessons, readings, homework, and other learning activities are available to students for completion at any time throughout a certain period (say one week). The learning material shall include lecture slides, optional readings, and audio-visual material. There shall be no need for live teacher-student interaction using live video calls, video, or in-camera lectures. All course material will be available to students via the internet using a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Synchronous: Synchronous learning means that although students will be learning online, each week, they will virtually attend a class at the same time as their teacher and fellow students. The type of class will be fixed and will require a weekly time commitment that cannot be rescheduled. Online synchronous learning doesn’t merely consist of live video lectures or discussions led by instructors. Students can frequently take the initiative to lead discussions or present to the class.
- Students and Teachers will be facilitated to conduct Quizzes, Homework, Questions/Answers, and discussions right in the Learning Management System using the internet.
Multiple assessment components will be used for student evaluation at different stages.
- The assessments and evaluations will include, and not be limited to, course homework (online), quizzes (online), online activities, presentations (online), project reports (online), and group discussions (online).
- Mid/Final Term Examinations: Specific dates and times for mid/final examinations in ODL courses will be published in the schedule of classes. A midterm and final term exam may be conducted as follows:
- Physically in the cities where the respective students are living/working at the designated Testing Center of CECOS University.
- Technology-enabled remote proctoring (Electronic/online surveillance through the use of recording technology)
- Online Open Book Examination with mandatory online discussion with individual students
- Projects plus online project report presentations
3. The conduct of examinations for CECOS Connect programs will strictly comply with the general examination policy and rules of CECOS university.

CECOS Connect is a proud and unique initiative of CECOS University of IT and Emerging Sciences Peshawar for Online and Distance Learning. CECOS Connect has been established in accordance with the guidelines of HEC. With CECOS Connect, you can enroll in our MS/PGD programs from anywhere in the world, attend classes online, and complete your homework and assignments at your convenience.
- CECOS Connect aims to provide quality education anywhere, anytime, and to anyone.
- All the programs offered under CECOS Connect are in accordance with the guidelines of HEC and are hence HEC-approved.
- All the programs offered under CECOS Connect are the same as regular programs. The online courses will have the same quality, objectives, and learning outcomes as traditional on-campus courses.
- All you need is a computer/smartphone/tablet with a stable internet connection.
- All teaching material will be made available to the students as and when required using the digital platform (LMS) developed for this purpose.
- Two instructional delivery modes may be used for a Course offered via CECOS Connect.
- Asynchronous: The entire teaching content will be delivered using self-study or asynchronous mode. There will be no need for live teacher-student interaction using live video calls, video, or in-camera lectures. All course material will be made available to students via the internet using a Learning Management System (LMS). The students can access the course material and complete tasks when it best suits their schedules.
- Synchronous: For courses/programs where the teaching requires the presence of an expert, it will be delivered in a synchronous mode. Regular online classes according to a preplanned schedule will be arranged where there will be a live teacher-student interaction using audio/video. Instructors and students will hear and see each other live from each site. Again, all course material will be made available to students via the internet using a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Students and Teachers will be facilitated to conduct Quizzes, Homework, Questions/Answers, and discussions in the Learning Management System using the internet.
- Multiple assessment components will be used for student evaluation at different stages. The assessments and evaluations will include, and not be limited to, course homework (online), quizzes (online), online activities, presentations (online), project reports (online), group discussions (online), and written examinations (online or on-campus in different cities).
