Fruit Trees Plantation Drive

Socially Responsive Initiative at Shalman Park, Hayatabad
In a remarkable step towards environmental and social responsibility, the Institute of Architects Pakistan National Council (IAP NC), IAP Peshawar Chapter, in collaboration with CECOS University Peshawar and the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), organized a tree plantation drive at the extension site of Shalman Park, Hayatabad.

The initiative, envisioned by Ar. Zulfiqar Ali (Immediate Past President, IAP), focused on planting fruit-bearing trees to revive the region’s ecological heritage. Each participant planted a tree tagged with their name, fostering a sense of ownership and long-term environmental stewardship.

Key highlights:
✅ 350 fruit trees planted, including 200 generously donated by Engr. Sohaib Tanveer (Vice President, CECOS University).
✅ Architecture students from CECOS University took the lead, pledging to monitor their trees’ growth.
✅ Dignitaries including Ar. Fawad Suhail Abbasi (IAP President), Mr. Muhammad Naeem (DG PDA), and Ar. Jahangir Khan Sherpao (EAROPH President) emphasized the role of architects in ecological regeneration.
✅ A symbolic gesture—each tree tagged with a name—to inspire lasting commitment to sustainability.
This initiative marks the beginning of a greener, more sustainable Peshawar, reconnecting the city with its natural legacy. Let’s nurture nature for a thriving future!
