Towards Continuous Enhancement: Institutionalizing PSG-2023 QA Practices

Prof. Dr. Kiran Raheel, Director QEC, and Ms. Rabia Riaz, Assistant Director QEC, CECOS University Peshawar, participated in the session “Towards Continuous Enhancement: Institutionalizing PSG-2023 QA Practices,” organized to promote sustainable implementation of quality assurance mechanisms under PSG-2023.
The session focused on institutional capacity building, effective adaptation of PSG-2023, and strengthening quality assurance practices across higher education institutions. The resource person was Dr. Nasir Shah, Director General, HEC Regional Centre, Peshawar.
One-Day Training Workshop on PREE

Prof. Dr. Kiran Raheel, Director QEC, and Ms. Maryam Noor, Assistant Director QEC, CECOS University Peshawar, participated in the one-day training workshop on “PREE – Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement,” organized by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Islamia College Peshawar.
The workshop focused on strengthening institutional quality assurance practices and effective implementation of the PREE framework, with Ms. Mahwish Asmatullah, Director QEC, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar (SBBWU), serving as the resource person.
HEC Orientation Session on Research Journals Policy

Prof. Dr. Kiran Raheel, Director QEC, and Ms. Maryam Noor, Assistant Director QEC, CECOS University Peshawar, participated in an HEC Orientation Session on the Research Journals Policy for editors, researchers, and faculty members from higher education institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The session covered journal recognition, quality standards, publication ethics, peer review, plagiarism control, indexing requirements, and recent updates to the journal evaluation framework, with practical guidance on enhancing journal quality, research visibility, and compliance with HEC requirements.
HEC Orientation Session on Research Journals Policy

Prof. Dr. Kiran Raheel, Director QEC, CECOS University Peshawar, participated in the HEC Orientation Session on Research Journals Policy, covering journal recognition, quality standards, publication ethics, peer review, plagiarism control, and indexing requirements.
The session provided updates on the journal evaluation framework and best practices for enhancing journal quality, research visibility, and compliance with HEC requirements.
HEC Orientation Session on HES Data Collection
22 July 2026 | HEC Regional Centre, Peshawar
Ms. Maryam Noor, Assistant Director QEC, CECOS University Peshawar, participated in the HEC Orientation Session on Higher Education Statistics (HES) and Data Collection from HEIs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The session covered HES reporting requirements, data quality standards, and best practices for institutional data submission. CECOS University was appreciated by HEC for the quality, accuracy, and completeness of its HES submissions, with its data highlighted as an example of good reporting practice.
The recognition reflects CECOS University’s commitment to quality assurance, accurate institutional reporting, and data-driven planning.

Turnitin Forum Elevating Learning and Teaching, The Synergy of AI and Assessment
Director QEC Dr. Maryam Mahsal and Manager Research Management, ORIC Ms. Uzma Shah attended the exclusive Turnitin educator forum and roundtable on “Elevating Learning and Teaching, The Synergy of AI and Assessment” organized by Turnitin Pakistan on 24th April, 2024 at Serena Hotel.
The session emphasized the potential of AI to enhance learning and teaching practices, while also addressing the ethical and effective integration of AI into educational environments. New and upcoming features in Turnitin were also presented in the talk by James Thorley, RVP APAC, Turnitin.

4th International Conference by PNQAHE
The 4th International conference organized by Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) took place from March 3rd to 5th in Islamabad at the Jinnah Convention Center, focusing on the theme “Future-Proofing Quality Assurance in Higher Education.”
Dr. Maryam Mahsal Khan, Director QEC, CECOS University of IT & Emerging Sciences, delivered a presentation titled, “Role of Pakistan’s HEIs towards SDGs: Insight into Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2023”. The event provided a valuable platform for academia to convene, exchange ideas, and deliberate on strategies vital for ensuring high-quality education in the ever-evolving landscape of higher education.
